Muslim women in Ontario continue to face unique and often overlooked challenges in the workplace especially those who wear hijab, niqab, or abaya. These experiences often sit at the intersection of gender, religion, and race, resulting in a distinct form of discrimination that includes both gendered Islamophobia and workplace sexual harassment.

Through this initiative, we are committed to providing comprehensive legal support and public education to Muslim women across Ontario. We work to ensure that women facing these intersecting forms of discrimination have access to trauma-informed legal advice, culturally competent referrals, and targeted workshops that help them understand and assert their rights at work.

Through this project, we’re offering:

  • One-on-one summary legal advice from experienced lawyers.

  • Referrals to legal representation where appropriate.

  • Public Legal Education (PLE) workshops focused on rights, protections, and how to navigate workplace challenges.

  • Culturally relevant resources in multiple languages.

  • Community outreach to raise awareness about the specific issues Muslim women face in professional settings.
